Breakfast Nook Transformation

January 31, 2012

Are there any rooms in your home that you are planning to renovate in 2012? Otero Signature Homes recently completed a breakfast nook makeover and wanted to share it with you! We hope it gives you the inspiration you need to jump start your own room transformation.

The breakfast nook in this home is used for eating and gathering on a daily basis. In order to make the room reflect the young family who owns this home, many changes were made to create a bright, updated space, perfect for playing with their children during the day and entertaining guests in the evening.

This breakfast nook makeover was completed by:

  • Knocking a wall out, and adding a 3 pane window to let in natural light
  • Painting the previously copper red walls and ceiling a light grey-blue tone
  • Replacing the large dark wood dining table and chairs with a transitional dining table, upholstered end chairs, picnic style bench, and bistro style seating
  • Installing a new chandelier with burlap shapes
  • Adding a beautiful area rug to define the space and some understated artwork.
